Male infertility is very common that accounts for approximately one-third of the cases of infertility. It is very important to evaluate the underlying causes of infertility which both the partners should be aware of. A comprehensive check-up for both partners is conducted when a couple has not been able to conceive – this can range from months to years. Generally the chances of conceiving increases as the number of trying days or months increases. This is also very subjective to the age at which the couples try. Older men and women are very less fertile compared to younger men and women.
Malefertility tests which are conducted in every fertility hospital in India. These test are different for male and female. Here we are comprehensively discussing the male fertility test and analysis. These are some of the tests your infertility doctor in Bangalore or any city which you are fromwill suggest you:
Semen Analysis:
This is a common procedure and is the most primary evaluation for the male fertility. In this test, the doctor check for sperm production and motility in the collected sample semen.Forthis test, semen is collected into a jar and the lab technician examines the sperm under a microscope. This test will help us find out the semen strength, density, sperm length, size and motility. This test will reveal the overall semen health of a person. The minimum sperm count which a normal man should have for normal reproduction is 20 million sperm cells per millilitre of the ejaculated fluid. Some of these test are:
Testosterone Test:
These are male hormones which play a major part in the reproduction. If the sperm count is low then a sample blood test will show the testosterone levels in the body. This is also combined with other Hormone tests like LH, FSH and the prolactin levels. Then a Urinalysis, which is a urine test is done to check for white blood cells. It will also let the doctor check if there is a presence of the sperm in the urine. This cause issues with ejaculation. The condition is known as retrograde ejaculation. The sperms getting wasted via urine.
In most other cases, no other fertility tests are required, and any anomalies observed can usually be cured with supplements that can help improve the sperm count and motility. If, however, further testing is deemed necessary, the following tests may be performed:Sperm agglutination – Here the sperm is check if thereis any clumping of the sperms.Clumping of sperm affects fertility as it prevents the sperm from swimming through the cervical mucus. This is a motility test which evaluates how long the sperms can swim into the cervix to find the egg. In females, a cervical mucus will hinder the sperms from swimming and can cause cluster of sperms to stay outside the cervix. A Sperm penetration assay is again a sperm motility test but this also analyses the strength of the sperms to penetrate the egg cells. This process of the sperm penetrating the egg cell is called fertilization. If this is not happening then the egg cell is not fertilized. And hence conception is not going to happen.
