I was watching one of Dr. Oz shows recently and the show was about one my favorite subjects – how to increase your energy. Here is what he recommends for ways to supercharge your energy.
1st way is to take astragalus supplement its one of the best ways to prevent aging. there is a special chemical in astragalus that slows down the aging process inside our cells. He recommends taking 200 mg of astragalus once in the morning and once in the evening.
His 2nd recommendation for supercharging your energy is Brewers Yeast. It has chromium in it which helps keep blood sugar level stable and keeps your energy from getting highs and then lows.
Brewers yeast is a powder that you can sprinkle on your salads, vegetables etc. You can put it in meal, it doesnt have much of a flavor but has great health benefits. Dr. Oz recommends taking 1 to 2 tablespoons a day. He likes to put it on popcorn.
The 3rd recommendation is Papaya juice taken in the morning. Papayas and the juice has an enzyme in it called Pepin. The papaya enzyme improves our digestion and allows us to harvest the energy from food.
Your digestion determines the amount of energy you feel. Your digestion is great when you are young until your 20s and then it begins to suffer. You dont get the same amount of energy you get from the foods you eat when you are older vs. when younger.
The 4th tip to get your energy up is Brazil nuts. You only need a couple a day to get the key minerals your body needs. Brazil nuts are high in magnesium which gives you tons of energy.
The 5th way is to naturally increase your production of Human Growth Hormone (HGH).
HGH is the potent compound produced in the pea size pituitary gland produced in the base of your brain. It is essential to grow into adulthood and to keep your organs healthy, muscles strong and energy up. Some doctors say it is the fountain of youth.
Unfortunately as we age, the natural production of HGH drops. By the time you have reached middle age, you have lost 85% of your HGH. Dr. Oz has been finding a way to increase HGH without the injections of the synthetic version. He recommends three ways to naturally increase the production of HGH:
1. Resistance simply lifting medium to heavy weights 10 minutes a day can help you increase your HGH.
2. Deep sleep 8 hours of sleep during night dont have caffeine in the afternoon, dont eat 2 hours before going to bed, and
3. Amino Acids these are building blocks of proteins and are also building blocks of hormones. There are 4 key amino acids you need to increase your
- Glycine
- Ornithine
- Arginine
- Lysine
You can get a supplement form that has all four forms of protein.
I havent tried these recommendations and I’ll be doing a 30 day experiment where I will take all these 5 recommendations daily and will report back.
