We are aware of previous rumours saying Sony Xperia Z6 is going to be released next year with five different Xperia Z6 line-up variations. But recent buzz says that Sony is planning to release only two iterations instead of releasing line-up of five variations.
According to a N4BB report, it is mentioned that Sony Xperia Z6 iterations will be released across 2016. With another model coming out at least three months after, it is said that the tech manufacturer will be announcing a base Xperia Z6 model in the middle of the year. According to the report, it is said that Sony Xperia Z6 is said to be released very soon, most probably during Consumers Electronics Show in early 2016.
Sony Mobile is planning to shut down its R&D facility in Taiwan this coming year, and a limited number of mobile iterations are the ways to cut back on processes.
It is not specifically mentioned what models are going to come out under the Xperia Z6 lineup, the company have indirectly hinted that the sequel version of the basic primary version shall have the same features of that of premium line-up seen in Xperia Z5 premium. This in turn means that second version of Sony Xperia Z6 features of 4K display and larger battery capacity to prevent the early power drain. In addition to these it is also strongly hinted that Sony Mobile might be shifting its design to an all-metal unibody design, which brings a premium feel to this model. It is going to give note 6 a good competition.
Previous rumours placed Sony Mobile a thought of coming out with at least five Xperia Z6 variations: Xperia Z6 Compact, Xperia Z6 Mini, Xperia Z6 (flagship), Xperia Z6 Plus and Xperia Z6 Ultra. But according to Blorge, the upcoming Sony Xperia X6 line-up will be comprised to five different variations, they are most probably a base model Xperia Z6, a larger Xperia Z6 Plus, an Ultra iteration with 6.4-inch High definition (HD) display, an Xperia Z6 Compact and for the first time it is rumoured of a small Xperia Z6 mini with a display size of 4.0 inch screen. All the information buzzing around the rumours are vague. We need to wait until its official declaration.
