Tata is yet to reveal the price of Bolt. However, given the high competition, it is possible that the Bolt will carry an affordable pricing on it. Accordingly, it is expected to come in the range of 4.6 lakh to 6.6 lakh rupees. The Maruti Swift is priced between 4.42 lakh to 6.71 lakh rupees. If Tata manages to price the Bolt in the same range, Swift will definitely feel the heat.

Features

The Bolt will be launched in both petrol and diesel versions. The Petrol variant will run on a 1.2-liter Revtron engine of 84 bhp and 140 Nm capacities. The diesel mill featured will be a more powerful 1.3-liter Quadrajet engine of 89 bhp and 200 Nm capacities. Conversely, the Swift petrol variant features a 1.2-liter K-series engine of 85 bhp and 114 Nm capacities. The diesel mill of Swift is a 1.3-liter Multijet engine with 74 bhp and 190 Nm capabilities. It will mean that the Bolt will be faster and powerful than the Swift.

Special Edition

By the look of it, the Tata Bolt will offer many advanced technologies like a specially designed 5-inch touch screen entertainment system provided by Harman systems. It will also come with EPAS (electric power-assisted steering) with active return function, speed-sensing power steering, ABS, EBD, central locking, child lock and many more.

In contrast, the Swift features the usual paraphernalia of features like driver side power window, climate control, steering mounted audio controls, USB, automatic headlamps with electrically adjustable mirrors and so on.

Verdict

One will have to await the actual launch of the Bolt to make a final statement. However, the signs suggest a winner in the making.
